"I've always thought of myself as a musician.  I started piano in kindergarten and flute in 5th grade. Playing music has always been my favorite form of creative expression and the best way I know to escape from everyday stress. There is no feeling that can compare to performing a Bach flute sonata in front of a large audience after practicing and perfecting it in the weeks leading up to the concert. Practicing (though sometimes tedious and frustrating) is so worth it in the end. I enjoy music most when it's collaborative - whether I'm playing with the Marin Symphony Youth Orchestra, my high school jazz band, or in the MST pit band.
