In-person auditions for the 2017 Season will be held on April 2 and April 9, 2017 from 9am to 5pm at Rhythms Performing Arts Center, 1114 1st St, Novato, CA 94945  You only need to attend one day of auditions.

In-Person Audition Requirements

If you have a photo or headshot, please attach it to your resume (as page two). This is not requried, but it helps us remember you. It does not need to be a professional photo. A well-lit recent candid of you smiling and happy from your shoulders to the top of your head will be great. Don't try to be a model or artsy. We just want to remember you.

Audition Day Schedule 

Dance Auditions

You must attend dance auditions at 9am. The routine will be uploaded to this website in early March.  The routine will also be taught on audition day.

General Singing and Acting Auditions

General singing and acting auditions for all shows begin at 10:30.  You will be notified approximately two days before auditions of your approximate general audition time.  You will be allowed  a one-minute song and a one-minute monlogue. You should plan on staying until at least 3pm if you are interested in an ensemble part and until 5pm if you are interested in a principal part. At 3pm, auditionees not needed for call-backs will be released. 

Photos and Measurements - During the General Singing and Acting audition period, we will also take your photo and our costumers will take your measurements.

Principal Call-backs

After you have done your general audition, you may asked to stay for call backs. Principal call-backs are from 3pm to 5pm on each day of auditions.  You will be told by 3pm if you are needed for call backs and which Principal Audition Sides we would like to see you perform.  Principal sides will be posted to the MST web site by mid-February so you can prepare. If you have submitted an application, you will be notified via email when they are available.

Principal audition sides are short scenes, speeches or parts of songs that give us a better idea of well you fit a leading or featured role. If you are interested in a lead or featured role in any of the the shows, you should download the sides for those roles and practice performing the side.  Do not perform these sides as part of your general audition. These sides are for callbacks only.
