After nine years, twenty-nine productions, and fifty-five awards, Marin Summer Theater is giving the creative team the summer off, so there will be no MST productions in 2018. We look forward to making insanely great theatre with you, and for you in the future!
By 2011 MST was a force to be reckoned with. Jim Poulos joined the company for the first time as a guest Director. The size of our college company grew. We continued our committement to new and classic works with a summer of SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD, ONCE IN A LIFETIME and WEST SIDE STORY.
At MST, we tell great stories. For eight years, our company of ridiculously talented young performers, technicians and musicians have put their heart and sole into creating magic on stage. And now you can be a part of the story. Our goal is to raise $6,000 during our Facebook Fundraiser. Please help us.

In 2010, MST tackled CHICAGO, ROSENCRANTZ & GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD and SOME ENCHANTED EVENING. It was an incredible season and solidified our misson:
- Present professional-quality drama, musical theater, and musical revues.
- Keep tuition as low as possible so that cost is not a barrier to participation
- Create a diverse theater company of professionally minded students

In 2008, Emily Gates and Patrick Nims saw a need for a low-cost student summer performing arts program. At that time there were no theater programs for college-age students in Marin County, no low cost theater arts programs for college or high school students, and no "summer stock" programs that produced multiple shows with core company members. Nims and Gates envisioned a plan to create a student summer theater company that would prepare and present three different productions in seven weeks. The "summer stock" aspect is a key component of MST. Company members are challenged in many ways by preparing for multiple roles, productions, and technical responsibilites simulatenously.
